Backgammon Season · in effect from 4 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Antlero OÜ about Backgammon Season: the app for iPhone, iPad and Android, the web game at /play and this site. We wrote them to be read, not skimmed past. When you tick “I accept the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy” in the app, or use the game, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we keep about you and why.

Who we are

Backgammon Season is made and run by Antlero OÜ, a company registered in Estonia. You can reach us at [email protected]. We give you a personal right to use the app and the game for your own play. It is not exclusive, you cannot pass it on to anyone else, and it is not for commercial use.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for such services in your country).
To play you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Your account belongs to you alone: do not share it, and keep your Apple or Google account safe, because whoever can sign in with it can play as you.
After your first sign-in you choose a username. It is public: other players see it and can find you by it. You can change it once every 30 days.
You can add a profile photo. Other players see it wherever you appear in the game. You keep your rights in your photo and allow us to store it and show it to other players for as long as it is your profile photo.
You can delete your account at any time: in the app (Profile, then Delete account) or by email. Deleting your account does not cancel a Plus subscription bought in a store: cancel it there (see “Plus” below).
Your rating, statistics and username have no money value and are not your property. They cannot be sold or transferred.

How to behave

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Backgammon Season is a game between people, so these rules are about how you treat them. Everyone must follow them, in games, in voice and video calls, in usernames, in profile photos and in reports. You must not:

harass, threaten, bully or insult other players;
use hate speech or attack people for who they are, such as their origin, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality or disability;
show or share nudity or sexual content, or anything violent or illegal, including on camera;
pretend to be someone else: another player, a famous person or our team;
cheat: use a bot, a backgammon program or another person's help during a game, play against yourself with a second account, agree results with an opponent, or use a bug instead of reporting it;
attack, overload or interfere with the game or its servers, or copy or take apart the app, except where the law allows it;
use the game to advertise, send spam or collect information about other players.

Your username and profile photo must follow these rules too: nothing offensive, sexual or hateful, no one else's name or picture, and no contact details or links.

Reports, blocks and moderation

You can block any player, and report a player, their username or their profile photo, from their player card or during a call. A blocked player can no longer invite you, play you or call you. Reports are read by our team. We review reports within 24 hours and remove objectionable content and the users who posted it.

To keep the game pleasant we may, without warning when needed: hide a username or a photo (automatically after several players report it, or by decision of our team), reset a username or remove a photo, pause voice and video calls for an account, remove a game from the rankings or correct ratings affected by cheating, and suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where we can, we tell you what we did and why. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and a person will look at it again.

Voice and video calls

In a game against another person you can talk, and during a call each of you can turn a camera on. A call starts only when both players agree to it. Your microphone starts muted and your camera stays off until you turn it on.
Sound and video go straight between the two devices (peer to peer), encrypted. When the two devices cannot reach each other directly, they pass through our relay server, still encrypted end to end.
Calls are never recorded, by us or by anyone else. This also means we cannot play a call back: if something goes wrong, report it straight away.
You are responsible for what you say and show on camera, and for anyone else who appears in your picture. Do not record or capture the other player's sound or picture without their permission.

Plus

Playing is free. Plus is an optional subscription for voice and video calls. A call works when either player has Plus.
Plus costs US$7.99 a month or US$69.99 a year. Your store shows the price in your currency, including any tax that applies.
Both come with a 7-day free trial, once, if your store says you can have one. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
Plus renews automatically for the same period at the price of that time, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Payment is taken by the store you bought it from. If the price changes, the store tells you first, as its rules require.
Cancel in the store you bought it from: on iPhone and iPad in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions; on Android in the Google Play Store, under Payments and subscriptions. For a purchase on the web, email us and we cancel it for you. Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds for purchases from the App Store or Google Play are decided by Apple or Google under their rules: ask them. For a purchase on the web, ask us. None of this limits your rights under consumer law.

Fair dice

The dice in every online game come from three sealed random values: one from our server, one from your device and one from your opponent's. Nobody, including us, can choose or predict them. Anyone can check the signed record of a game on the verify page, and we publish live dice statistics. We never give anyone better dice, for money or for any other reason.

No guarantee, and limits of our liability

We work hard to keep Backgammon Season running and fair, but we provide it as it is and as available. The game may sometimes be unavailable, a game may be interrupted by a connection problem, and features may change or end. We are not responsible for what other players say, show or do.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost games, ratings or statistics, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of €50 or what you paid us for Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.

Ending

You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when the law requires it; Plus then ends with it, and the store's refund rules apply. If we ever close Backgammon Season itself, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before, and Plus will not renew after that.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when the game changes or the law requires it. The date at the top shows the version. When the terms change, the app asks you to accept the new version before you play again. If you do not accept it, you can stop playing and delete your account.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, where Antlero OÜ is registered, and disputes go to the courts of Estonia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
